Liebster Award – I’ve Been Nominated!

Liebster Award - I've Been Nominated

Thank you Style by Brittney for nominating me for the Liebster Award!

(As quoted by Style by Brittney):

What is the Liebster Award?

The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. The word “Liebster” is German for favorite, beloved, or dearest.

Here are the rules for the Liebster Award:

1. Each nominee must link back the person who nominated them.
2. Answer the 10 questions which are given to you by the nominator.
3. Nominate 10 other bloggers for this award who have less than 200 followers.
4. Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
5. Let the nominees know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them.

Here are the questions I was asked to answer by Style by Brittney!

1. Do you take more time doing your hair or makeup when getting ready?

Definitely my hair. I have long hair so it takes forever to blow dry.

2. If you had the chance, would you be on a game show?

NO. Sounds embarrassing.

3. If you could meet one celebrity who would it be?

David Tennant! He is so beautiful.

4. What’s your dream house like?

A light blue beach cottage!

5. If you could go back in time to relive a memory or change something, would you?

No. Memories are not to be messed with.

6. Do you prefer dogs or cats?

7. What’s one thing you don’t leave the house without? Excluding your phone.

My water bottle! “Hydrate or die.”

8. If you could commit one crime without getting caught, what would it be?

This may sound lame, but I might just speed in my car for an entire day. And by speed, I mean speed.

9. What’s your favorite animal?

A seal. More specifically, a seal that would live in the ocean by my future beach house and come to me whenever I called it.

10. What’s your favorite season?

Fall. Or Summer. Sometimes Winter is okay, but never Spring. Okay, what I’m really trying to say is Fall.

Dinner Date Outfit

Dinner Date Outfit

I have a dinner date with the Natester tonight. I can’t seem to make these last couple hours go by faster, so I decided to do a little OOTD post for fun. We agreed to be formal, but I didn’t want to be over the top. I consider this outfit very business casual actually. It’s great for those occasions that are right on the borderline of casual and formal; it’s the perfect transition.

The black pencil skirt I am wearing is the main component of this outfit – it can dress anything up. On top I am wearing a sheer navy blue top with small lime green polka dots (underneath is a black tank top). And my shoes: short heels are essential for completing the semi-formal look. Dressy but not fancy.

On my wrist I am wearing this antique-looking watch that my grandpa got for me at a garage sale. It’s a little cracked, but I think it just adds a little character. I am also wearing my Pandora bracelet (with two charms). On my nails is Lightning by L.A. Colors.

Hope you enjoyed. Please comment below if you think I should do more OOTD’s! Don’t forget to follow me by WordPress, e-mail (in the side bar), or by:

La Jolla Spree

La Jolla Spree

Recently I was in La Jolla, CA, and if you have ever been there, you would know that there is great shopping downtown. Saving for school being my highest priority right now, I could not go crazy with the shopping. Me being a thrifty shopper, I still found a way to come home with something! The dress is from Ross (not from downtown, but in a different area of La Jolla) and I got it for a whopping $5.99. The necklace and earring set, however, I got from a store called Georgiou in downtown. It was $22, so that was my single splurge.

If you are ever in the area, I would recommend going to Georgiou. It is a little expensive, but they were having a buy one get one half off sale when I was there. They have very classy, yet casual clothing. I spent a lot of time in Francesca’s as well, but the prices could not satisfy my thrifty nature. A close-up of the necklace and earrings will come up soon.

The Mermaid Dress Controversy

the mermaid dress controversy

A before-prom picture. Dress is from David’s Bridal. I had to buy the belt separately (also from David’s Bridal). I’ve always been skeptical about mermaid dresses, but this is truly the best thing I’ve ever worn. It’s not the best for sitting down in, but the fit was really nice and it didn’t need to be taken in at all (though some of the length had to be taken off because it was apparently made for somebody twice my height).
