Warby Parker Review

Recently, Warby Parker asked me to review their newest Spring and Palm Canyon collections, so that is what this post shall be about! I had never heard of Warby Parker, but once I checked out their website, the way they conducted business sounded familiar to me. Turns out my boyfriend had actually tried their products before. Warby Parker is basically an online eyeglasses/sunglasses shop – both prescription and non-prescription. What I thought was cool is that they send you samples to try on at home for a few days to mimic the feeling of actually trying on glasses at a store. You’re allowed 5 samples, I believe, because you can’t always trust that things on a model are going to look the same on you. In addition, when you purchase a pair of their glasses, they donate a pair to someone in need through their non-profit partners.

As for their Spring Collection, I am really loving the different color options they provide. In fact, I am in love with the Quimby sunglasses in Absinthe.

I think that these are so stylish and unique for the spring! I love the vintage shape to them, but I am mostly sold on their green color.

Here is another one of my favorites:

And some models styling the Spring Collection, to get an idea of how they look on.

They have quite the hipster, coffee shop, entrepreneur look to them, and are very trendy in my opinion. As for the Palm Canyon Collection, I’m not a particularly huge fan of this style, but I do think they are fairly chic.

This wooden frame trend is still in its early stages, but I think it still has high potential. I saw some vendors selling similar shades on campus, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this look starts hitting stores soon.

In addition to the wooden style frames, they have a a frame called Red Canyon that I think is very business woman chic.

The shape is very professional and sleek, not too distracting, yet appealing to the eye (ah see how punny I am).

So that is my review of Warby Parker! I have never personally tried their products, but from reviewing their website and images, I can say that I really like their style 🙂

The Color Blue

The Color Blue

Blue has always been my favorite color. You can imagine how pleased I was with this photo shoot at the pool – seeing that both the outfits and the tarp beautifully compliment each other after some editing. These outfits are a little more casual, but still have the potential of looking formal, say if you add some nice jewelry, and heels of course.

The top dress is a dark navy blue, but after editing the photo it came out rather black. Also, I would like to discuss the matter of high-low dresses.

Actually, high-low anything. I don’t particularly like the style, though the fad has exponentially increased in popularity. The light blue one Charlie is wearing I can say I do like. It is subtle and simple. It doesn’t scream “look, I’m a high-low!” like most dresses I find. The same goes for shirts. I prefer shirts that are of similar length back and front. Of course, there are exceptions: I recently got a very abstract top that isn’t high-low, but rather random lengths all around. Therefore, you can drape it over your torso how ever you choose. I’ll be sure to post a picture of it sometime.

Vintage Summer Outfits

I have a feeling that vintage-inspired clothing will never quite go out of style (at least for a while). The appearance itself gives off a classy vibe that has just as much power as wearing something of modern formality. It gives off a sense of age and intelligence. Here once again, are my two models, looking lovely as ever.

Glitzy Glam

Glitzy Glam

My friend from across the country just sent me this gift of a personalized hairbrush and compact mirror. I really like the fact that the compact mirror lights up. Yes, there is an “M” on both of them, but for privacy reasons I won’t give away my real name.

Both of these products can be found at http://shopglitzyglam.com.

Bowling Outfit

So, on this lovely Saturday afternoon, I went bowling with the family and friends for my brother’s 14th birthday. Apparently, I was “too dressed up” for bowling, but this is what I wore anyway.

Southwestern Style

Southwestern Style

Part 3 of Target haul. I have a confession to make: the only wallet I have ever bought for myself was from a garage sale – when I was still in elementary school. Sure, I’ve gotten wallets for Christmas, my birthday, etc., but I have always avoided the hassle of spending my own money on one. For the past couple of years, I have just been working through the same out-dated rotation of wallets strewn over my closet floor. But not anymore. Congratulations to myself, I have moved a step further in life.

This wallet was only $12.99, along with many other different types and styles of wallets at Target. I was drawn to the Southwestern style and design, which is generally rare for me even though I come across it all the time. And that is the end of the Target haul! Up next: La Jolla shopping haul (and maybe some vacation pictures).

Necessary Items of Clothing

Necessary Items of Clothing

Here is the long-promised for Target haul. I apologize for not uploading pictures sooner, but I have been in beautiful San Diego/La Jolla for the past week spending hours in the ocean and late afternoons lounging on the poolside. Not to mention a bit of shopping (shocker!). A few more pictures of items I got from Target will come up later today or tomorrow. AND, not to mention, a La Jolla shopping haul and/or photo shoot. So stay tuned.

Back to the post. I would just like to say that razor back tank tops are marvelous. They are simple, casual, and easy to wear anywhere. In my opinion, I would recommend buying a looser fitting tank top, that way you could wear it as a comfortable workout top, a beach/pool cover-up, or combine it with a bralette (Yes, I have finally figured out how to wear them)! I wore this while going for a run at Torrey Pines, and I must admit I felt a lot better about myself wearing something other than old cross country t-shirts. So that is where I must conclude, be back soon!
