Girls’ Night Out – Holiday Shopping

Unless you’re the type of person who does their holiday shopping mid-summer, the mad rush of shopping has just begun. Stores are preparing for the notorious Black Friday and Cyber Monday, malls are playing the Carol of the Bells, and Bath and Body Works has all their Christmas scents lined up. There is a sort of hype in the air; an excitement, a warmth. If you plan on participating in the chaos that is Black Friday, or leftover Saturday, take some friends along, and dress up! Here are two outfit ideas for a girls’ night out of holiday shopping:

Image

First and foremost: wear comfortable shoes. I prefer my combat boots. In addition, I am wearing one of my favorite summer dresses turned fall with my cut-out black tights and burnt orange cardigan. To add that touch of class, I am wearing my pearl necklace (always does the trick). Rebecca is wearing this great maroon and dark navy top from Target, black leggings, a gold collar necklace, and a gold dragon ear-cuff.

So there you have it: two different takes on fall outfits. I hope this is of some inspiration for the holidays 🙂

I’m feeling a little under the weather today, so to counteract the sniffles, I’m dressing it up – casually. I kind of wear a lot of black during the fall and winter. A lot. So it’s no surprise that that is what I turned to in my closet this morning. Here is the result. Happy Friday!

Happy November! Today I am wearing some thrifted items: the orange cardigan and bird printed top. It’s a bit of warm November here, so I decided to wear my pleated Forever 21 skirt with thigh-length stockings and combat boots. This look seems to be popular on campus; I can’t help but conform!

More OOTD’s coming soon!

Being at college for the past couple of weeks has opened me up to something greater than small town fashion. Being in a greatly populated area has challenged me to play around with my style; I see so many people on the daily wearing clothing combinations I never thought of trying. So here is my take on college fashion.

How I Style Combat Boots #2/ Oversized Cardigan

How I Style Combat Boots #2/ Oversized Cardigan

This sun & moon tank top I got from A’gaci is one of my favorite fashion finds from this past week. The material is lightweight, soft, and the perfect length. The arm holes are very deep, so I purchased a simple black bandeau (also from A’gaci) to go underneath. It was great to finally find a tank top like this that doesn’t cost more than it’s worth! It reminds me of Brandy Melville style, yet only a fraction of the cost!

Also, ever since I purchased combat boots, I realized that just about anything goes with them. Shorts, jeans, dresses… anything. To top this look off, I covered up with an oversized cardigan I found at Goodwill. You don’t have to go to a department store to find specially made oversized clothing. This is a size 22/24, which wouldn’t look right on me if it was the main piece, but it works well with this outfit as a whole.

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed.

Land of Enchantment/ How I Style Combat Boots #1

I went on a beautiful walk this morning and just had to document my experience. I think people forget that New Mexico is indeed “the land of enchantment.”
