Unless you’re the type of person who does their holiday shopping mid-summer, the mad rush of shopping has just begun. Stores are preparing for the notorious Black Friday and Cyber Monday, malls are playing the Carol of the Bells, and Bath and Body Works has all their Christmas scents lined up. There is a sort of hype in the air; an excitement, a warmth. If you plan on participating in the chaos that is Black Friday, or leftover Saturday, take some friends along, and dress up! Here are two outfit ideas for a girls’ night out of holiday shopping:
First and foremost: wear comfortable shoes. I prefer my combat boots. In addition, I am wearing one of my favorite summer dresses turned fall with my cut-out black tights and burnt orange cardigan. To add that touch of class, I am wearing my pearl necklace (always does the trick). Rebecca is wearing this great maroon and dark navy top from Target, black leggings, a gold collar necklace, and a gold dragon ear-cuff.
So there you have it: two different takes on fall outfits. I hope this is of some inspiration for the holidays 🙂

Here are some fall outfits geared towards warm weathered areas.
This is Waing, sporting some floral shorts, yet creating an overall fall look with the yellow sweater.
Next is Cindy, wearing a floral-lace top with dark navy skinnies and black oxfords.
And here is me, wearing my enormous cardigan over a black and white floral outlined skirt, patterned tights, and a simple black top.
Stay tuned for more fall lookbooks and OOTDs. 🙂
This outfit is definitely geared towards comfort, mostly because of the leggings. My inspiration for this look: http://katie-mulchinock.tumblr.com/post/31747369253
The past few outfits have actually all been Pinterest inspired.
Also, am I the only one who has this problem on a daily basis?

So, on this lovely Saturday afternoon, I went bowling with the family and friends for my brother’s 14th birthday. Apparently, I was “too dressed up” for bowling, but this is what I wore anyway.

Earrings – possibly Claire’s or Forever 21 (I don’t remember)
Caught in action! Anyway, that sums up my day.
We all know about the circle skirt (a.k.a. skater skirt) fad. Not to sound like a hipster, but I had actually already bought a circle skirt at a hand-me-down shop without knowing its trendy connotations. I just thought, “Hey, a nice black skirt in good condition. Everybody needs a black skirt.” Now I see this type of skirt all over the internet; needless to say I am very happy I made that purchase.
In the picture below, I combined my subtly pleated black circle skirt with a lacy floral top, which I tucked in. To create a contrast with the formality of the outfit, I laced on a pair of Converse.
Here are some close-ups. The necklace I am wearing is from France – my mom got it for me from a trip she went on a couple years ago.
I absolutely love the detailing of the necklace. I think it can add a touch of vintage to any outfit.
That is all for now. Have a great 4th of July tomorrow!
My home never fails to amaze me with its beauty. To get to this wonderful scenery, I drove about a minute and walked for ten.
This is the pathway down. And then I reached the secluded meadow where I decided to start photographing.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the shoot.
Here are some details of what I was wearing:
Dress – Forever 21, HB1
Necklace – unknown
Flip Flops – Target
Nail Polish – Revlon, Charismatic
I had a very great morning, indeed! I very much appreciate feedback on my work, so please comment below on what you think. Also, to see my everyday life you can follow me on my Instagram @claireleighton7. Happy Monday!
I don’t know about everyone else, but I get extremely self-conscious when it comes to taking photos of myself out in the open. I went to the horse stables early this morning with this intent, but I found it difficult to not concentrate on the people in near proximity to me. I kept wondering to myself if they could see me, and what they would think. When I was driving back home, I realized it wasn’t actually that big of a deal. This is something I want to do, so I’m going to do it. Yes, I’m trying to establish my own fashion blog, and yes, I am the model, deal with it.
Also, I know it’s obvious but I felt I should mention that I do edit my photos. Some people think that it’s false advertising to edit photos. I agree with that, but quite honestly, half of the fun in creating a fashion blog is the editing. So yes, this photo is edited. But hey, I think it looks a lot nicer and has a bit more character than the original. Especially if you don’t have a $5,000 camera.
Onto the outfit:
Dress & Belt – Bealls
