TGIF. If you’re not spending your weekend cooped up in various study boxes crying over how many midterms you have, this is the perfect outfit for a night out! On top I am wearing an asymmetrical top that can be worn several ways – essentially its just a circle of cloth with arm holes that can be draped over your torso however which way. This item was thrifted. On bottom I am wearing a short black pencil skirt by Bloom, and flats by HotCakes.

The main statement of this outfit is, of course, the gold necklace and bracelet set! These were sent to me from OKA Jewelry, and I can’t say I’ve every owned anything like it! It’s out of my comfort zone, but once I experimented with it, I saw many wardrobe combination possibilities.

So this is what I came up with! I think that the gold goes very nicely with dark navy. I feel like this jewelry will also go great with the “little black dress.” Another possibility would be to wear this jewelry for Halloween! OKA Jewelry also sells a great deal of costume jewelry for fun occasions. I imagine the necklace would go well with an Egyptian-styled costume.

Hope this is of inspiration for a fancy Friday.

OKA Jewelry – Gold Resin Bib Link Flower Statement Necklace Set

OKA Jewelry - Gold Resin Bib Link Flower Statement Necklace Set

Here I am presenting another great gift from OKA Jewelry! My first impression of the website was that it sold jewelry just like any other brand name store. Once I received their jewelry, however, I was shocked by how gorgeous it was! Pictures cannot do it any justice. The necklace and earrings in person are absolutely stunning, and I would recommend this online store to all of my followers, friends, and family.

On a side note, we all know that you take your chances when shopping at Forever 21 because of the quality of material. I think it’s safe to say, however, that OKA Jewelry has very good quality items, similar to how I would rank Francesca’s (which is quite expensive).

So, all I ask is that you check out their website for some great deals!

If you would like to purchase this exact same jewelry set, click here! It’s only $12.95! You can also get it in coral, but I prefer the sea green!

More about me: I recently moved to Southern California, so this necklace fits in perfectly with the year-long summer. As you can probably tell, I was heading to the beach when this picture was taken.

Thanks again to OKA Jewelry! I love wearing your jewelry!

Simple Summer

Simple Summer

Summer is the best time to relax, kick back, and watch Netflix; or perhaps go for a run, jump in the local pool, or tan in your backyard. Whatever the occasion is, during the summer I flat out don’t feel like dressing up, and I know I can’t be the only person who feels this way. Instead of succumbing to my usual outfit of running shorts and a tank top, I provide the solution to this lack of motivation.

1) Big statement necklace. So you feel like wearing a basic t-shirt with some shorts? Just add a big, loud necklace to make it look like you planned out your outfit perfectly.

2) Something more than just flip flops. To stand out in the crowd, wear sandals that accentuate the outfit and not dull it further. For example, sandals with such features as straps, rhinestones, belt loops, and braids can change a look from “just go out of bed” to “I meant to be casual today.”
